History of the club:

The idea of holding camel races came in the eighties in implementation of the directives of His Highness the Amir - the late, God willing, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - may his soul rest in peace - to the founding committee of the club. Camel races constitute a large part of the history of the Arabian Peninsula, as these races have been held since ancient times in a way that is naturally different from the presently organized picture.

Through constant communication and continuous follow-up from the late Emir Sheikh/ Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah - may God rest his soul - to the Foundation Committee, to which His Highness gave his unlimited moral and material support, these races began to be organized and arranged gradually, similar to what is held in neighboring countries, and here the people began Kuwaitis of all categories are interested in this sport, and many of them engaged in this sport and acquired purebred camels, whether through import or local production, so the idea of publicizing the Kuwaiti Camel Racing Club came according to the directives of His Highness.

However, the brutal Iraqi invasion of our beloved country had a direct impact on the delay in this announcement, but His Highness’s keenness on the survival and continuity of this sport resulted in the announcement of the Kuwaiti Camel Racing Club on August 22, 1991, where His Highness, may God have mercy on him, interviewed the founding committee and took his wise directives. Publicity has had the most effect in upgrading this sport, as the fields and barns have been allocated and constructed at the highest levels, so that these facilities are similar and even superior to those in neighboring countries, according to the testimony of all. This sport has been on its way to growth and prosperity thanks to the continued support and care of His Highness, the Emir of the country, the late Sheikh / Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God rest his soul)

This sport remained on its way to growth and prosperity thanks to the continued support and patronage of His Highness, the Emir of the country, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (may God protect him and his care), and thanks to the directives and recommendations of His Highness - may God protect him, and the establishment of an annual international championship for camel racing under the patronage of His Highness and what he offers to the club Unlimited moral support.
